ARTxSOUL Presents ARTxMUSIC Friday, Sept. 9th

Mark your calendars for this one. (Or better yet, RSVP on Facebook.)

Jonathan Andrew and I will be opening up for our own band! Jonathan will start the night, accompanied by Ty Tuschen. Then I’ll play a set, also accompanied by Ty. Then, Christina will join the stage, I’ll move behind the drum set, and the Toll Collectors will close out the night. All the while, you can check out artists from ARTxSOUL, Vol. 3 on the walls… which includes my photography!

Groov Cafe Recap 04-30-16

File May 03, 6 49 12 PM

What a fantastic little spot we found in Montclair, NJ. It feels like a living room, charms you like a coffee shop, and tastes like a restaurant. Ardith and I had a fantastic experience playing for a packed house of family, friends, and new friends. Really enjoyed this gig!

Thanks to my sister for the awesome photo above. You can check out some of her other work right here.

Here was the setlist!

Northern Soul Recap 04-21-16 (RIP Prince)

Just a few hours after we learned of Prince’s passing, Northern Soul’s Thursday night of music began. Surrounded by videos of Prince performances on screen and the feeling that music has the power to connect us in mysterious ways, I took the stage with Ty Tuschen joining me on electric guitar. It was a special night to be playing music and one that I won’t forget anytime soon.

At the end of my set, we paid tribute to the purple one with two songs. “Nothing Compares 2U,” which Prince wrote but Sinéad O’Connor made popular. And for “Kiss,” we were joined by Jaime De Jesus, who had the perfect falsetto to take the lead vocal up into the stratosphere. To close the night, Jaime, Ty, James Calio, and I did a collaborative rendition of “Purple Rain.”

Here was the setlist.

Guitar Pull on Saturday, March 12th

On Saturday, March 12th I’ll be playing a special kind of show at Espresso Joe’s in Keyport, NJ.

This isn’t your typical – watch this guy play for 40 minutes, watch the next guy play for 40 minutes, go home – kind of show. I’ll be playing round robin, storyteller-style with two fantastic singer-songwriters, Paul Rosevear and Jason Kundrath.

Deafening Colors open the show at 7pm and the round robin begins at 8pm.

This show will be hosted by Blowupradio.com.

Hope to see you there!

Pianos Recap

What a fantastic night at Pianos!

On Tuesday, December 29th I was joined by Ardith Collins on cello for a nice little acoustic performance in the upstairs lounge.

Here are Ardith and the sound guy doing a little pre-show phone check.

Here is the setlist. We were able to pack a bunch of tunes in the set, including a folk tune (Who’s Gonna Shoe?), an 80s classic (Melt With You), a 90s one-hit wonder (Your Woman), a modern day cover (Loveland), and a bunch of my original songs. Oh… and… ummm… Britney Spears. There was some of that, too. I also experimented using looping pedals. One for the voice. One for the guitar. Worked out quite well and allowed me to add some additional layering.
