It was my first time back since they re-did the place. And I have to say, it did not disappoint.
Had a really fun night with Christina, Mari, Jonathan, Ty, and Sean-David. Here are some pics!
Last Thursday, I had the pleasure of playing with Kristy and Ardith for a private event at the Art Factory in Paterson, NJ.
Here is Kristy, soundchecking her mic.
Ardith soundchecking her cello.
We had a blast.

Thanks to all of you who came out on a holiday weekend to see my solo acoustic performance this past Saturday.
Here’s a photo from the performance.
My next performance is with Christina Alessi and the Toll Collectors on June 5th at Maxwell’s Tavern in Hoboken. Check the performances page for details.
And what a week it was!
Four gigs. Each unique in their own way.
First, a solo acoustic show at Bowery Electric. Sunday, March 15th. This place had a great vibe and an even better sound system and sound guy.
Second, a duo performance with singer/songwriter Shayfer James at the picturesque Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn, NY.
Third, I played with Christina Alessi and the Toll Collectors at Northern Soul in Hoboken, NJ. It’s always a blast to play with these guys. This was such a great show!
I finished up the week with a unique show on Saturday, March 21st – A Guitar Pull sponsored by blowupradio.com. I had a fantastic time getting to meet and share the stage with David Bronson and Mike Regrets.
We took turns playing songs, talking about writing, recording, and everything in between. I always enjoy playing at Espresso Joe’s. Not only because they hosted my photography for a month back in November, but because the audience is top notch. They sit, listen, and pay attention to the show for the entire duration. It’s such a joy to see places like this still exist and I’m always so happy to play there.
Wednesday, August 27th I played a solo acoustic show at Pianos Upstairs Lounge. It’s a nice little spot in the lower east side of Manhattan.
Here’s a photo of me playing.
And here was the setlist. It started on the back of an envelope and finished up on a piece of notebook paper. I wound up calling an audible and subbed in a cover of Melt with You in place of one of my slower tunes, Sunday Morning.
Two Saturdays ago, we celebrated the Morris Canal with food and music. We saw some familiar faces and made some new friends. Thank you to all who attended.
Here was double-breasted’s setlist, though we did make some edits along the way.
And here was my view from behind the drum kit.
Thanks again to the Canal Day organizers – especially John Manna – for having us back. You’re doing great things for the community and it’s been fun to see it grow each year!
I had a great time with double-breasted playing at the Chalfonte hotel in beautiful, historic Cape May, NJ.
The Chalfonte is always great about putting up signs and advertising the performance.
We had a great turnout and an attentive audience.
Here was the view from behind the drums (pre-show).
Here was the setlist.
And here we are after the show in the King Edward Bar!
Bonus: You can watch a clip of our cover of A Great Big World’s “Say Something.” I’ve embedded it below, but in case you can’t see it, you can also watch it on Facebook here.
I performed last Sunday with double-breasted to celebrate the Music Den’s milestone of being in business for 30 years. I wrote a bit about the importance of this store as part of my own musical upbringing in this post. It was a humid afternoon where rain was threatened, but it held off and we had a nice outdoor performance for a good crowd.
Here is a photo of the three of us.
And here is the setlist.
Don’t miss upcoming double-breasted performances next month:
